bagi sebagian besar anak muda gaul, khususnya di kota2 gede, kata yang satu ini tentunya sudah pamilier (familier). dandanan dengan mengecat rambut dan muka ala jepang ini sangat nge-tren di Indonesia. Biasanya para Harajuku ini pada nongkrong di pinggir2 jalan, terutama pada hari minggu atau hari libur, layaknya komunitas anak pang (punk). ngobrol, ngerumpi, nyanyi2, jalan2 adalah kerjaan mereka. bandung dan jakarta menjadi pusat gaya ala jepang ini.
cap negatip sering mampir kepada meraka. walaupun pada dasarnya Harajuku adalah sebuah komunitas pecinta mode Jepang. namun seperti yang kita ketahui, sebagai “orang Indonesia”, orang yang dandanannya serba aneh dan berantakan ya dicap sebagai anak aneh pula. negatip, narkoba, rokok, minuman, badung, nakal, kotor, berantakan, tidak baik.
Namun, tidak sedikit pula yang bertanya2 apa sebenarnya Harujuku? apakah hanya sekedar dandanan ala Jepang? apakah anak2 dengan rambut dicat ala jepang ini “berantakan”? darimana nama itu berasal? kapan tren itu dimulai?
Harajuku sebenarnya diambil dari salah satu tempat terkenal di sepanjang jalan di sebuah stasiun di Jepang, tepatnya di Omotesando, Tokyo. tempat ini juga merupakan mode center di kota Tokyo sana. di sini terletak toko2 barang mode bermerek, seperti Gucci, Zara, dan toko mainan anak-anak paling terkenal di Jepang, Kiddieland. Omotesando sangat terkenal sebab menjadi tempat anak-anak muda berkumpul dan mengekspresikan diri mereka pada hari Minggu ketika jalan itu ditutup untuk kendaraan. Di sepanjang jalan kita bisa melihat kelompok- kelompok anak muda dalam dandanan kelompok mereka. Ada yang bergaya gotik, punk, bikers, dan sebagainya.
nah, salah satu toko yang menjual pakaian mode gaul tersebut adalah Distrik Harajuku. di tempat ini, anak2 yang demen nongkrong di jalanan sana bisa beli perlengkapan gaul yang sangat lengkap. dan tentunya kita kenal watak orang Jepang. CINTA PRODUK DALAM NEGERI. maka dari itu, Harajuku lebih diminati dari toko2 lain dengan merek2 terkenal asal negeri barat.
tren Harajuku ini muncul pada tahun 90-an. pada saat itu, sekelompok anak muda datang ke stasiun di kota sana. mereka nongkrong dan menyanyi di jalanan di Omotesando. lalu apanya yang menarik?
ternyata cara berpakaian mereka lain dari yang lain, unik. mereka berpakaian layaknya tokoh kartun ala jepang (anime) dan pahlawan di komik2 sana (manga). nah, karena mereka berpakaian layaknya tokoh anime dan manga, maka orang asal negeri barat sana menyebut mode itu sebagai cosplay, diambil dari bahasa inggris dari kata costume and play.
lalu apa hubungannya anatara Harajuku dengan Cosplay?
tentu ada hubungan yang erat diantara kedua mode ala jepang ini. ternyata, usut punya usut, style ini tetap terinspirasi oleh budaya lokal, Kimono. kita bisa lihat bagaimana jika orang jepang memakai kimono. baju khas jepang, bibir berwarna, muka dibalut dengan warna sangat2 putih. sekelompok pemuda mengecat rambut mereka dalam aneka warna dan rias mata dominan hitam, sementara tubuh mereka juga dibalut baju hitam dengan sepatu bot hitam. nah, kelompok pemuda pecinta budaya ini menuangkan inspirasi mereka dengan membuat tubuh mereka berantakan. rambut di cat, bibir diwarnai, pakaian serba ala Jepang, dan bergaya layaknya anak gaul. dan style ini lebih dikenal dengan nama Harajuku. di sudut yang lain, sekelompok pemuda juga mebalut tubuh mereka dengan dandanan persis bahkan sama dengan tokoh2 idola mereka di film2 anime atau manga. nah, mode yang ini dikenal dengan sebutan cosplay.
dan ketika kini ada anak-anak muda di Bandung dan mungkin juga beberapa kota lain meniru rekan-rekan mereka di Jepang, cara berbusana yang di sana awalnya mengikuti tokoh anime, manga, permainan video, grup band, dan belakangan lebih berarti orang yang memakai kostum sementara anak-anak muda terobsesi pada subbudaya Barat, ini semakin menegaskan dunia tak lagi mengenal batas. Hanya, apakah kita akan terus menjadi pengekor?
